We are keen to spread the word of God far and wide in our City. Below are some reasons why we evangelise.
WHY WE EVANGELISE
- Commanded by the Lord – We are given a mandate in the scriptures by the Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim His word everywhere to everyone without discrimination. Matthew 28 vs 18 to 20.
- Sinners are to be offered the saving gospel of Christ – We realise that the Lord Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost. We therefore are compelled to emulate the Master by seeking for the lost pointing them to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
- Gospel work provides an avenue of service for each member of our congregation. This unites us as we focus on one goal and one mission.
- Evangelism helps in the sanctifying process. Sin shall not find room in an evangelistic spirit. Holiness thrives where there is a love of the gospel. An evangelistic minded people love to seek the Lord’s face for answers to prayer, courage and godly wisdom.
- The terror of God – God’s wrath hangs upon all men regardless of creed, skin colour, education or social background. This wrath is ready to break forth upon men without notice. We are therefore compelled to reach out to men, women and children with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.
